Tony Hawk’s American Wasteland was the first game in the series to offer online play via Xbox Live, whereas previous online play was limited to the PlayStation 2 and Microsoft Windows. Additionally, the Nintendo DS and Game Boy Advance versions were released on the same day as the console versions, under the title Tony Hawk’s American Sk8land. Notably, the DS version was the first third-party DS game to feature online support, thanks to its Wi-Fi capabilities.
